EAVES Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using EAVES, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use EAVES. By creating an account, you confirm that the date of birth you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and applying for any role (artist, organizer, venue owner).
• You may not create an account on behalf of someone else, or impersonate another person or entity.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent or harmful behavior.

4. Roles

EAVES supports multiple account roles beyond a standard user:

• Artist, Organizer, and Venue Owner roles can be requested from within the app and are subject to review before approval. We may request supporting documentation (e.g. business registration for venue owners) to verify the legitimacy of a role request.
• We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or revoke any role at our discretion, including for misuse or misrepresentation.

5. User content

• You retain ownership of any content you post (photos, bios, event descriptions, reviews, etc.).
• By posting content on EAVES, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service.
• You are solely responsible for the content you post. You may not post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, infringing on others' rights, or that violates the rights of any third party.
• We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section, including via user reports.
• After account deletion, your personal profile and directly-owned data (photos, RSVPs, social connections) are permanently removed. However, events or venues you created may remain visible to preserve accuracy for other users who engaged with them (e.g. RSVP'd or saved them) — this content is de-identified and no longer attributed to your account.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: - Use EAVES for any unlawful purpose - Harass, threaten, or abuse other users - Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to our systems - Scrape, reverse-engineer, or use automated tools to access EAVES outside its intended functionality - Post false event information, impersonate a venue or organizer you do not represent, or otherwise misrepresent identity - Circumvent our age-verification or account-security measures

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

7. Events and third-party content

• EAVES is a discovery platform. Events, venues, and listings are created and managed by users (organizers, venue owners, artists) — we do not organize, host, or guarantee the accuracy of any event listed.
• We are not responsible for the conduct of any venue, organizer, artist, or attendee, or for what happens at any event discovered through EAVES.
• Ticket sales, if linked from an event, occur on third-party platforms and are subject to those platforms' own terms.

8. Location services

EAVES uses your device location, with your permission, to show nearby events and venues. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; some features may not work correctly without it.

9. Availability

We aim to keep EAVES available and functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Account Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile and associated data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to EAVES, with or without notice, if you violate these terms or if we reasonably believe your conduct harms EAVES, other users, or third parties.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

EAVES is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to issues arising at events discovered through EAVES.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Belgian or EU law (e.g. liability for fraud or gross negligence).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of EAVES after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Leuven, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may apply in your place of residence.
